MLWSP Recognized as Comparable to Hong Kong's HKDSE by UK-Ecctis
UK-Ecctis completed its benchmarking assessment report comparing the Maple Leaf World School Program (MLWSP) with the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE). The results state that the MLWSP is comparable (equivalent to) the HKDSE standard.

The Ecctis Executive Summary Report includes the following:
- Ecctis has found the MLWSP High School Diploma awarded by Maple Leaf Educational Systems (MLES) comparable to HKDSE standard.
- A benchmarking study was commissioned by Maple Leaf Educational Systems (MLES) and undertaken by Ecctis to evaluate the comparability of the Maple Leaf World Schools Program (MLWSP) High School Diploma with the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE). The study builds on Ecctis' previous benchmarking of the MLWSP in 2024, which found the MLWSP High School Diploma overall comparable to UK GCE A Level, British Columbia (Canada) Certificate of Graduation, and US (New York) High School Diploma.
Dr. Sherman Jen, Chair and CEO of MLES, comments, “This positive assessment of the Maple Leaf World School Curriculum is another significant recognition of the high academic standard of our high school curriculum. This Ecctis-recognized equivalency will provide graduates with a MLWSP diploma direct admission into Hong Kong universities."
James Beeke, Maple Leaf's Superintendent of Global Education and Executive Director on its Board of Directors, observes, “The MLWSP being benchmarked by UK-Ecctis (a top world-recognized curriculum and credential evaluation service agency) as comparable to the HKDSE is another meaningful step in Maple Leaf's implementation of its global vision of blending the best of east and west in education to prepare students for the international world of the future. Ecctis has now assessed the MLWSP to meet the same world recognized curriculum, assessment, and diploma standards as:
- UK (A-Level)
- USA (State of New York)
- Canada (Province of British Columbia), and
- China Hong Kong
